Actress Hayden Panettiere at a May event for her memoir, reflecting on how sharing her mental health struggles had helped others to seek help themselves. Panettiere, known for her roles in films such as Remember the Titans, Heroes, Nashville and more, died Sunday at age 36. Her cause of death remains unknown. In a statement, her father said, “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her.”

17 Monday: Opening statements begin in the trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, whom prosecutors accuse of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed rapper Tupac Shakur. Davis, who pleaded not guilty, faces one count of murder.

18 Tuesday: A major trial begins in California over allegations that Meta knowingly designed Facebook and Instagram with addictive features that harmed children and teens, and that it violated federal law by collecting data from users under 13 without parental consent. Meta denies the allegations and says it has invested heavily in youth safety.
