I'm grateful for you ~ and I want to share something extra this week:

Hi Friends 💕,

We spent most of SCOOP on Monday marking September 11th, and rightfully so.

I truly believe this day needs careful coverage that includes reverence and respect. As I mentioned yesterday, while we can call many events "historic," few have had such a cascading effect on the lives of so many around the world.

HOWEVER ...

As the sun set on 9/11, and a rainbow suddenly appeared over the sky of New York City, we learned of two important news items – both related to countries with a very rare and important designation by the United States as state sponsors of terrorism: Iran and North Korea.

‣ North Korea’s leader is in Russia to meet Putin, with both leaders locked in standoffs with the West

‣ Iran identifies 5 prisoners it wants from US in swap for Iranian-Americans and billions in assets

Timing in a news cycle can often seem unusual or unexplainable – but the importance of these headlines about two state sponsors of terrorism so close to the worst terror attack in U.S. history felt like too much of a coincidence to ignore.

We need to talk about why – why we should note the timing, what's going on and why it matters.

Grab a coffee and let's talk! I'll give a quick overview and answer any questions on this live broadcast.

It works like a YouTube Live (so you can comment, and we can interact) but those with an invitation (contributors to SCOOP!) are the only one who can see it. 🧐
